A Blank Page captures a familiar but easily overlooked moment. That pause before an idea takes shape.
Rather than focusing on the finished drawing, the painting lingers on the quiet concentration that comes beforehand. A child sits with pen poised above an untouched sheet of paper, turning possibility into intention one thought at a time. Together with the discarded apple core and paint palette they hint at a creative process that's already underway, even before the first marks made.
Like much of my work I'm after finding significance in the ordinary moments. Inviting the viewer to remember the excitement, uncertainty and freedom that can exist in front of a blank page, it holds every idea, every mistake and every opportunity all at the same time..
